Amy LaVere & Will Sexton, who are married to each other, are both masters in multiple areas. LaVere, who is from Memphis, is a film actress, an upright bass player and a vocalist who has done time both in punk bands and in Nashville’s country/roots scene. Austin native Sexton had a major label contract with his alternative rock band Will and the Kill in late ’80s when he was still a teenager, and went on to become a respected songwriter, guitarist and producer who worked with artists like Steve Stills, Roky Erickson and Waylon Jennings.

The Steel Wheels have long been at home in the creative space between tradition and innovation, informed by the familiar sounds of the Virginia mountains where the band was formed, but always moving forward with insightful lyrics and an evolving sound. Always a Rehmsworld favorite, we are excited to welcome the guys back to the Balcony stage!

Darryl Purpose really likes a good story and as such he has leaned into them whenever they come near.

As a teenager, Darryl hitchhiked to Las Vegas where he began a career as a professional blackjack player; he has been called the best (and fastest) card counter. He was Inducted into the Blackjack Hall Of Fame in 2010.

In his thirties, Darryl began his current vocation as a performing songwriter. He has released 8 albums of original music. The last two, Still The Birds and Next Time Around, spent weeks at #1 for AirPlay on Roots Music Report.  Darryl is inspired by the love of friends, the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, and the beauty of trees, water and land - especially mountains.

Hailing from Nashville, but nothing like your typical Nashville songwriter, Christopher Williams is a songwriter, storyteller, and entertainer - offering songs that are honest and confessional, yet never over bearing; and performances that engage audiences with an appealing mix of intense passion and humor. Christopher was the very first show of our series some 18 years ago and now will circle back for one more time at Rehmsworld.
